Shark Bay Bungalows is an extremely secluded retreat with two simple bungalows and an unusual treehouse perched in the entangled branches of a giant banyan tree. Run by an energetic young local family, these bungalows offer an extreme back to nature experience in a forest environment with locally cooked food from the family plantation. There’s a meandering forest track which leads through virgin forest for ten minutes to the Shark Bay lookout where you’re likely spot reef sharks frolicking in the waves, it’s another ten minute walk to the beach at Turtle Bay, or a fifteen minute drive to Mt Yasur Volcano – it’s possible to walk in around an hour.
