The Melanesian Hotel is a efficient Japanese owned hotel close to downtown Port Vila and with 82 simply furnished good value rooms enclosing a central swimming pool and bar and offers excellent service. Suiting both holiday-makers and business travellers and with two restaurants and a popular Casino, the Melanesian makes a convenient full service hotel with Business Centre, Boutique Shop, Tour Desk and 24-hr reception very close to several of Port Vila’s liveliest restaurants and bars.



The Melanesian is strong on cultural representation and has daily Kava drink tastings beside the swimming pool from 6pm-7pm and three buffet BBQ dinners with traditional dance performances (Wed, Fri & Sun).

Accommodation is in four room categories, all over three 3-storey wings with most rooms overlooking the swimming pool. The most affordable rooms, the Hibiscus Rooms, are suitable for two people only and offer amply spacious interiors with self catering facilities and large bathrooms. Orchid Rooms have air-conditioning with balconies overlooking the pool and can sleep two adults and two children in the lounge area.

The 1- and 2-Bedroom Apartments are fully self contained with kitchens (gas stove, fridge, microwave, utensils) and washing machines in the main bathroom. Each has a master bedroom with ensuite, with 2-bedroom apartments having an additional room with three single beds. There's also a spacious presidential suite with two bedrooms and lounge.
